- Hire Period:
No hire may be made for more than 12 weeks at a time - Payment:
Online bookings must me paid in full in advance of your booking. - Cancellations:
- The Committee reserves discretion to cancel a hire without notice. On cancellation the Committee shall refund the hire charge but shall not be liable for any loss incurred by the Hirer.
- In the event of the hall or any part thereof being rendered unfit for the use for which it has been hired the Committee shall not be liable to the Hirer for any resulting loss or damage whatsoever.
- Hirers must give at least 7 days notice if they wish to cancel.
- Should the Hirer cancel the hire the Committee shall be entitled to retain the whole of the fee paid. If however, notice of cancellation is received (and acknowledged) at least 7 days before the date for which the hire has been made the fee will be refunded subject to any necessary deduction in respect of expenses incurred by the Committee in connection with said hire.
- Care of the premises:
The Hirer shall take care of the premises and make good any damage. This involves:- Fixing nothing to the outside of the property
- Using only approved internal decorations
- Leaving the premises clean (and removing all rubbish)
- A charge will be made or deducted from the deposit if repairs or extra cleaning are necessary (see Hire Agreement)
- Stewarding:
The Hirer shall accept personal liability and be responsible for the preservation of order during the hire period. For events requiring stewarding (such as dances, stage plays and public meetings there shall be at least one steward for every 50 people attending. - Equipment:
Nothing shall be used or stored on the premises without the written consent of the Chairman or Vice-Chairman. The Committee accepts no responsibility for any article stored with such consent, or for any other article brought onto the premises. The Hirer shall indemnify the Committee for any claim in respect thereof. - Liquor Licences:
The Hirer is responsible for applying for any occasional licence needed to enable excisable liquor to be brought onto the premises. Before applying for such a licence the Hirer must obtain written permission from the Chairman or Vice-Chairman. No excisable liquor shall be sold after 10.45pm or such earlier hour as maybe decided by the Licensing Justices. The Hirer shall prohibit the admission of any person after 10.00pm - Music and Dancing
The Committee holds a Premises Licence for Public Entertainment under the Licensing Act 2003 – a copy for information purposes is posted on the Centre’s notice board.
The Licence stipulates a number of conditions including the following- Performances involving danger to the public shall not be given
- Highly inflammable substances shall not be brought into or used in any part of the premises The Hirer is responsible for paying all royalties and other charges due including those payable to the Performing Rights Society and/or Phonographic Performance Ltd). The Hirer shall indemnify the Committee for any claim against the Committee in this respect.
- First Aid Facilities
Hirers are responsible in all respects for the provision of first aid facilities during their provision of hire. - Fire Safety
Action to be taken in the event of a fire Call fire brigade and evacuate the building
The Committee ensures that the firefighting equipment is well maintained. Hirers are urged to take every care to prevent fire and in particular to take the following simple fire precautions:-- Highly inflammable substances shall not be brought into, or used in any part of the premises
- No unauthorized heating appliances shall be used on the premises
- No candles or equipment with a naked flame d)
- On arrival:
- Keep exit doors unlocked and escape routes clear at all times
- Ensure that no smoking takes place both inside the Centre and within its confines e.g. car park
- See where fire alarm and extinguishers are located.
The hallway entrance must be kept clear of any form of obstruction. The use of tables in the hallway is prohibited at all times
- Before leaving
- Keep electric storage heaters clear of all articles
- Switch off cooker and water heater in the kitchen
- Close all internal doors and secure all windows
- Switch off all lights
- Secure external doors if requested by the Caretaker
- Public Liability
All groups/organisations operating on a member/participant session fee basis must email/present a copy of their group/organisation current Public Liability Insurance with their initial booking application.
